After a few months of hiatus, Trans Metro Dewata will be launched again. The red buses, which were previously financed from the state budget, will now operate through the joint efforts of the Bali government and municipalities.
Bali Governor Wayan Koster confirmed that TMD will resume operations at the end of April 2025. The funding was divided: 30% is covered by the province, and 70% by the cities and districts through which the routes pass.
There will also be changes:
💬 The number of buses will decrease from 100 to 76.
💬 TMD will cease to be a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, and will become regular public transport.
💬 The routes were optimized, taking into account the congestion on the roads.
Bali residents actively sought the return of buses, and now the authorities are ready to launch TMD again. It remains to wait until April and see how effective the new format of work will be.
