6-Meter Crocodile Captured at Ekas Beach, East Lombok
14.11.2024 Indonesia NewsOn Wednesday, November 13, 2024, a massive 6-meter crocodile was captured by local fishermen at Ekas Beach in East Lombok, NTB. The crocodile, which has frequently appeared near the shore, was spotted by a fisherman resting on a shrimp farm net around 11:00 AM local time. As the fisherman approached, the crocodile moved into the net, becoming trapped.
The fishermen released the net, then secured the crocodile and brought it to the Jerowaru Police Station. Authorities plan to transfer the animal to the Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) for safekeeping.
According to local accounts, this estuarine crocodile has been surfacing every year but had previously evaded capture. Police Chief Iptu Yudha Aditya Warman confirmed that while this crocodile was caught, others may still be in the area. He advised locals and tourists to exercise caution when visiting Ekas Bay.
