Beach Cleanup and Coral Planting Liven Up the Second Day of Nusa Penida Festival 2024

On Friday, October 11, 2024, participants joined in planting coral during the Nusa Penida Festival in Klungkung, Bali. They also helped clean the beach and release baby turtles at Nusa Lembongan Beach.

The Acting Regent of Klungkung, I Nyoman Jendrika, said it’s important to keep the environment clean and beautiful so tourists can enjoy their visit. He added that Bali's waters are a habitat for turtles, and releasing baby turtles helps protect them.

Coral planting was done to preserve the beauty of the coral reefs in Nusa Penida. The local government worked with a community group to make this happen. Jendrika said that the coral reefs are one of the main attractions of Nusa Penida, and tourists who dive there pay a fee to help keep the reefs healthy.

The Nusa Penida Festival 2024 began on Thursday with 1,000 dancers performing to celebrate the event.
