Dead Whale Found on Legian Beach
wbragin 01-Dec, 15:31 0 Bali News / VideosA whale was recently found stranded on a beach in Bali, likely trapped in a fishing net. Locals saw the whale struggling, which caused it to become stuck.
This is the second time in two years that a whale has stranded in the area. Last year, a similar event occurred in Seminyak. Authorities are burying the whale to prevent environmental problems.
The whale's origin is unclear, but it may have come from nearby waters or even Java. Locals are saddened by the repeated stranding of whales and the difficulties in protecting the environment.
On November 29, 2024, a dead whale that washed up on Legian Beach was quickly buried by the Legian Village Beach Management and the Badung Environmental Agency (DLHK). The whale had started to decompose, and officials acted fast to bury it and keep the area clean for tourists.
The burial, done with heavy machinery, was meant to help the whale decompose naturally. Some residents shared concerns about how wet sand may slow down the process, but burying it in the sand helps avoid attracting scavengers or bad smells.
The event stirred mixed reactions online. Many felt sad about the situation, while others commented on the music used in videos about the whale. However, the main focus was on protecting the beach and keeping the area safe for visitors.
