Flights to Bali Canceled Due to Volcanic Ash Cloud

Jetstar, Qantas, and Virgin Australia canceled flights between Australia and Bali after Mount Lewotobi erupted, creating a dangerous ash cloud. The eruption happened on Sunday, sending ash 9km high and causing the evacuation of over 15,000 people in East Nusa Tenggara, about 500km from Bali.

Ash from the eruption has drifted toward Denpasar Airport and is expected to affect Bali and northern Australia until late Wednesday. Airlines are monitoring the situation, but many flights remain grounded for safety reasons.

Qantas: Two flights from Australia to Bali delayed.
Virgin: Ten flights on Wednesday canceled due to “adverse weather.”
Jetstar: All flights to Bali canceled until at least 2 pm on Wednesday, with updates expected.

The airlines prioritize passenger safety and are working to get everyone to their destinations once it’s safe.
